But God…

But God…

And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.  Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
– Ephesians 2:1-3 (NASB)

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
– 1 John 2:16 (NASB)

Sin doesn’t make you a bad person.  Sin makes you a dead person.

You see, we don’t need a Savior just to forgive our sins.  We need a Savior to give us life, a life that is in Him.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
– Ephesians 2:4-7 (NASB)

If we have a small view of God, we will have a small view of the gospel.

We were dead in sin; But God made us alive.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
– Ephesians 2:8-10 (NASB)

For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].
– Ephesians 2:10 (Amplified)

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things (spiritual death) passed away; behold, new things have come (a new life, alive in Christ).
– 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB)

We are His work of art. Once dead, now alive in Him, ready to be used by Him

We are ALIVE!!!!  What greater reason than that to sing His praises and worship Him.
