Meekness has suffered from misunderstanding. It rhymes with weakness and the two have been synonymous in people’s minds. This is unfortunate because nothing could be farther from the truth.
At the end of your life will you hear your Master say to you – “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness”?
God saves us to do good. Heaven is a fabulous byproduct of our salvation. But God saves us to come in us and live His life through us. That is the key purpose of our salvation.
There are all kinds of people around us who are hurting. They are hurting physically – emotionally – spiritually. The questions I must ask myself are, “What is my excuse for not helping them? And “Why am I not a kind person?”
It is hard to be patient!
Peace is the third character trait of Jesus Christ that the Holy Spirit wants to produce [like fruit] in each Christian’s life. Yes, peace is possible. But the only source of it is God’s Spirit.
We need to guard against 3 common Joy Busters and we need to cultivate some Joy Builders into our lives.
Fruit is not something we do; it’s what we display.
